EXPLORE SONG ENTRIES

Welcome to the artist entries section where you can listen to original songs by independent artists. You have one vote to help an artist win time in State of The Arc studios, a leading recording studio in London as used by Noel Gallagher, Rag and Bone Man, Kylie Minogue, Snow Patrol and many more. Voting will start on the 16th November 2017, so tell your friends and spread the word. The top 5 voted songs will be selected as finalists. An overall winner will then be selected by an external judge. How to Enter

To enter, you must first register a Songwall profile. Once registered, to enter the competition, you can then upload an original song that you have written. The top 5 songs with the most votes will then be picked by an independent judge and the winner will win a day in the amazing and one of a kind STATE OF THE ARK studios in London.

‘WIN STUDIO TIME’ COMPETITION T&C’s

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. You will be legally bound by these Terms from the time you submit an entry for the ‘WIN STUDIO TIME’ competition (the Competition).

GENERAL

The Competition will begin on the 16th November 2017 and close on the 25th November 2017  (the Competition Period). After this time a winner will be announced.

The competition is open to residents of the UK/Great Britain the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands aged 21 or over except employees of Songwall or any related companies, their families, agents or anyone professionally connected with the Promotion. Internet access is required. Entrants must be original music artists (of any genre).

To enter, artists need to register a profile with Songwall (if not done so already) and upload one original song to the ‘Win Studio Time’ competition page. Internet access required. There is a limit of one entry only per artist/group. [Multiple entries or] entries made through agents, third parties, organised groups or any entry duplication method will not be accepted. The competition is only open to unsigned artists.

The Promotion and these terms and conditions are subject to English law. Any disputes must be referred to the English courts.

VOTING AND WINNER SELECTION

Voting will be open from 16th November December 2017, after which time the top 5 voted songs will be selected as finalists. An overall winner will then be selected by an external judge.

The voting period will end on the 16th November 2017
The winning song/artist will be announced on the 25th November 2017.

The winning artist will be informed on the “xx” 2017 and should provide written acceptance of both prize and terms and conditions by 12.00pm (midday) “xx” 2017.

The winning artist will be notified by email using contact details provided on entering the competition. Artists are responsible for ensuring that contact details are correct and up to date.

ELIGIBILITY

Artists must be unsigned in order to qualify to win the day in the studio.

The winning artist must confirm acceptance of their prize via email by 12.00pm (midday) 29th August 2017 in order to retain the right to claim the prize. If contact is not received by the winning artist within the agreed timeframe an alternative winner will be selected from the finalists.

Songwall reserves the right to make decisions regarding the eligibility of entries and accepts no responsibilities for entries which are incomplete, late or where appropriate contact details are not supplied or if entries are suspected of using votebots or spamming false votes.

PRIZE

There is no cash alternative to the prize offered. Songwall reserves the right to offer an alternative, reasonable equivalent opportunity should circumstances make this necessary.

Winning artists are offered:

One day recording in State of the Ark Studio. Precise times will be determined by the studio.
Songwall cannot take responsibility for payment or reimbursement of travel or additional expenses incurred by the winning artist(s).

MEDIA

Artists agree that any video or photo footage of the event, filmed by the Songwall team, remain the property of Songwall along with rights of promotional use thereof.

Artists may share photos and video filmed, for example on social media, with credit to Songwall being evident.

COPYRIGHT

The winning artist will retain 100% of their publishing rights to their original song.
Songwall will own the mechanical rights (the recording / master recording)

ALTERATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS:

You agree to accept the date offered by the recording studio representative. If you cannot accept the date offered, an alternative date will be offered. If you cannot accept the second date offered, a third date will be offered. If you do not accept a date within 12 months or do not accept one of the three dates offered you will lose the opportunity of a free day in the studio.

Songwall reserves the right to delay, postpone or cancel the promotion in the event of circumstances outside its reasonable control, which it considers make it necessary for it to do so.

Songwall representatives will make contact with winning artists to inform them of any changes at the earliest possible time.

NOTE: Songwall reserves the right to disqualify any entry into the competition who may be suspected of cheating by using votebots or spamming made up email entries.

EVENT

Artists must be able to travel to London, arrive at the venue by an agreed time, and be prepared to record on one of the dates offered.

Artists are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation if necessary.

Artists should ensure that they have appropriate insurances in place as Songwall cannot accept responsibility for any damage to person or property during transport or on the day itself.

Additional expenses outside of the immediately provided prize, for example food and beverages, will not be included or compensated for. Songwall cannot be held responsible for payment of overnight accommodation, deposits or return thereof, nor for any charges which are incurred during the day, for example for damage or breakages.

Uploading Songs

By uploading a song to www.songwall.com, you the ‘artist’ / ‘user’ hereby agree that you are the sole or joint copyright right holder of the piece of music or song, including music and lyrics and consent to the song being accessible to the world and universe via this website and associated Songwall social media . If you are a joint copyright holder of a song that you upload to www.songwall.com; you as the ‘user’ / ‘artist’ uploading the song are declaring that you have the consent of all other copyright / IP holders of the song that you are uploading to the songwall website.

License: Artists retain all IP rights by uploading songs and/or images onto the Songwall website

Website Terms and Conditions

By accessing and or using www.songwall.com you hereby agree to our terms and conditions. These terms and conditions may be modified from time to time and will become effective on going live via songwall.com. It is your responsibility to check for updates and we recommend you do so on a regular basis. These terms are legally binding and using the website you agree to be bound to this agreement whether You ‘the visitor’ or ‘browser’ without limitation through any device or otherwise are registered as user or not.

Songwall.com (Songwall) or www.songwall.com has the right to discontinue it’s service, competition section or any activity with or without notice and may prevent your use of the Songwall service without any prior notice to you. Songwall will hold no liability if the Songwall services are discontinued at any point.

Our goal is to provide a sound service. However, If you do not agree to be bound by this agreement you should not use www.songwall.com (We hope you join us on the trip)

Access to information

The Data Protection Act 1998 (the “Act”) gives you the right to access information held about you and for you to request that changes be made to this information if it is inaccurate or not up-to-date.

Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee (as amended from time to time) to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you.

The studio is London - how do I get there?

The winning artist will be responsible for their own travel arrangements and overnight accommodation if necessary.
