Artist Biography

UK singer/songwriter/producer Ella Joy’s interest in creating and performing music was sparked at the age of 5 when, like many kids, she first began musical instrument lessons at school. Though she continued to play instruments in and out of school, it wasn’t until she was 14 that her parents became aware of their daughters exceptional vocal abilities. Upon this revelation Ella’s dad, himself a musician and producer, immediately swept his daughter into the studio recording a live version of Adele’s ‘Daydreamer’, which still available on her Soundcloud page.

Four years on and Ella Joy’s musical career and ability has gone from strength to strength, now, at just 18, she possesses a rich and evocative voice and an extraordinarily sensitive and mature musical ability - Everyone who hears this voice is stunned by her raw natural talent and perfect pitch, a rare gift.

Her songs, inspired by explorations into her sense of self, touch on the deeper aspects of being such an old soul in a young human form. Her début EP Lucid Living, set for release September 1st 2016, represents the starting point of a creative journey for an exciting emerging artist, and is a testament to Ella Joy's mesmerising, distinctive sound and unpretentious lyricism; a unique series of songs that are authentic and deep, quietly drawing in an attentive listener.

Also vocalist of the Arupa Gold project, a collaboration with Bluze and Kavi Jezzie Hockaday, Ella Joy has performed live in various venues throughout Europe and the US, including Wilderness and Somersault festivals in the UK last summer (2015).

This year has seen a collaboration with Warriors of the Dystotheque on their track Return to Coney

If you are a joint copyright holder of a song that you upload to www.songwall.com; you as the ‘user’ / ‘artist’ uploading the song are declaring that you have the consent of all other copyright / IP holders of the song that you are uploading to the songwall website.

How can I edit my profile

At the moment you can edit your profile by emailing us hello (at) songwall dot com. Artists can log-in to their artist profile to upload more songs.

What support do you offer for independent artists/bands?

We offer instant payment and strive to provide better rates with cool opportunities such as paid support slots. As a start up we are taking one step at time. We hope you join us :-)

I’m a music fan, why should I support Songwall?

Because you love discovering great new music by grass roots artists with character songs. On Songwall you can be ahead of the game by finding out what's hot in new music.

I’m under 18, can I still get paid for my music?

At the moment you can only get paid via a Paypal account. We are working on other options.

Can I upload a cover or remix?

No, we are purely about original music, supporting artists and the art of songwriting. There are other sites that cater for cover versions.

Can I upload songs which feature swearing?

Anything defamatory will be taken down from Songwall.

Why can’t I download or stream my favourite songs by major artists?

Although we would love Prince to be on our website, we are a site for new and independent artists.
