“These times are strange” Aren’t they just?!
With so many of our usual social and emotional outlets closed off to us, many are turning to the arts for comfort. Amidst the viral Facebook challenge to reflect on influential albums from our past, the savvy among us are also taking this time to look to new music and emerging artists as the soundtrack to our lives. Is the new album launch by Bluebyrd titled “Find Your Way”; one for your collection?
Cue their latest single “Get on Board”. “Get on Board” is the perfect accompaniment for lazy Sunday sunshine, ideally with a view of light-spangled water. It is the brief holiday you need from the crazy times we live in.
Bluebyrd appear to be masters of creating tunes which glue themselves into your consciousness. “Get on Board” is no exception. Escape for three minutes of musical tranquility and then enjoy the simple, lyricless refrain floating around your brain for the rest of the day.
Another great find is “Find Your Way”, the title track of Bluebyrd’s upcoming album. Eagle-eyed Songwallers will remember our review of cynicism-laden anthem “Song for the Duped” which also features on the album. If “Song for the Duped” is the fuel for the lockdown discontent fire then “Find your Way” is the balm for the burns.
Gentle, rhythmic, yet still packing a lyrical punch, “Find your Way” is the perfect antidote for social media burnout. Reassuring us that if we are feeling overwhelmed by the constant barrage of “a billion ideas, a trillion opinions” we are not alone.
“Find your Way” and other Bluebyrd tracks are ready to be discovered on Songwall. Songwall is the only platform that does not take a fee from the download, all of the time, 24/7. This means the money you pay goes directly into the pockets of the artists, and not us.
Once you’ve had a taste of what Bluebyrd have to offer, you’re going to want more. That’s why we are pleased to announce that they will be the feature of our first ‘Songs in the Sky’ livestream event. They will run every Thursday through May.
Songwall will be presenting a 15 minute performance by a range of our innovative artists (we call them our Songwall Pioneers). This will be followed by an exclusive, ticketed after-show party in the “Songwall Green Room”. Here you can meet the artists and get insights into their world and their music. While many artists at this time are feeling the pressure to share their music for free, we ensure that every artist we feature in our live streams is paid for their craft.

Tickets are available now at just £3 for an individual event or £10 for full access to all of May’s events.
This will be the perfect event to discover artists who are really going places (even when you can’t).
Eventbrite tickets for the after show party can be found here
